Established by the estate of Mattie Larsen, this scholarship will be awarded to a worthy student from Custer or Logan Counties.

Established by the friends and family of Fay W. Fuller to provide financial assistance to students who are residents of either Custer or Logan counties in Nebraska. Selection will be based on scholarship and financial need.

This scholarship shall be awarded to full-time students. Recipients shall have junior or senior class standing, a minimum 2.8 GPA, graduated from a Nebraska high school, and have exhibited good moral character and citizenship. Preference shall be given to candidates who are members of Fellowship of Christian Athletes or any other campus ministry organization (i.e. Campus Crusade for Christ, Christian Student Fellowship, United Campus Ministries).

The purpose of this scholarship is to commemorate the lives of Margaret Cushing Anderson and Herbert Cushing, Jr., children of Dr. and Mrs. Herbert L. Cushing. Dr. Cushing was the fourth President of Kearney State College and served for twenty-five years. This scholarship shall be awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have sophomore, junior, or senior class standing, a minimum 3.0 GPA, graduated from a Nebraska high school, and majoring in Pre-Medicine, Journalism or English.

Established by a gift from the estate of Estella Pearl Crosscup in memory of George A. Crosscup, this scholarship will be awarded to a UNK student whose primary residence is in Buffalo County. Preference will be given to those students with farm backgrounds and who demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to a child of a Nebraska farmer, rancher, or persons in an agricultural-related business. The recipient should have an academic level of a sophomore or above with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

The preference for this scholarship is that the recipient should be a resident of York or Hamilton Counties. If there are no candidates who meet this requirement, preference then goes to students from the eastern third of Nebraska. The recipient must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and must demonstrate financial need.

Established by Mr. & Mrs. King to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are sons or daughters of residents of Buffalo County.

Established to help support students of UNK who might be displaced from agricultural occupations by adverse circumstances (but the donors do not impose this as an absolute requirement). Selection criteria considered includes past academic achievement and demonstration of potential for future academic and professional accomplishments.

Established to assist students of UNK. Special consideration shall be given to students with any of the following attributes: graduates of Holdrege High School, graduates of Millard North High School, affiliated with Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, or majoring in Accounting. Selection will be based on financial need and consideration will be given to students who are academically eligible but may be financially restrained from continuing their education.

Established to help a dependent of any  UNK Office/Service worker employed during the academic term the scholarship is used. The definition of dependent will follow the same guidelines covering the Spouse/Dependent waiver, which is 24 years old or younger and a full time student. The recipient must be an undergraduate, upperclass student having completed 28 or more hours, working towards a degree, and having declared a major in one of the colleges. The student must be maintaining the minimum cumulative GPA required for graduation from that college. Along with academic performance, assessment of the student's need for assistance will be taken into consideration in the awarding, as well as extracurricular activities and work experience.  All scholarships can be renewed upon continued maintance of the ceiteria listed above and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

The recipient of this scholarship must be the child of a UNKEA member who is employed during the academic term for which the scholarship is awarded. The recipient must have a minimum of 12 completed credit hours and a minimum grade point average of 2.5. Full-time enrollment is required during the semesters in which the scholarship is awarded to the student. In addition to academic performance, financial need and participation in extracurricular activities may be considered in awarding this scholarship.

The recipient of this scholarship shall be a member of the ACM organization at UNK. The minimum grade point required is 3.0. Candidates shall have completed 14 credit hours in computer science.

This scholarship shall be awarded to an undergraduate majoring in English Education with sophomore class standing or above and a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman and then renewed each year until that student has graduated.  It is then awarded to another incoming freshman, etc.

This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman student at UNK who has graduated from any Grand Island Nebraska Public High School. GPA shall not be a controlling criterion in selection. Preference is given to students who have demonstrated financial need and who have demonstrated good character. Candidates should also be US citizens or lawful permanent residents.

Donor prefers Grand Island High School. Work with guidance staff, David Woods, to select recipient.

Established to help support students of UNK. It shall be awarded to members of Alpha Tau Omega, Zeta Upsilon Chapter, enrolled in any College of UNK. Recipients shall be selected by the Alumni Board of the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega, or other such committee as appointed by same. Recipients must be an active member of the Zeta Upsilon Chapter in good standing. Recipients shall be determined by the following criteria: Leadership Qualities--based on a high standard of integrity, fraternal involvement, campus involvement, character and other such qualities as exemplified by the recipient; Scholarship--minimum GPA considered will be equal to or above the local active chapter GPA, with more preference given to the student with a higher GPA; Need--the Alumni Board shall consider need, although it should not be the determining factor. Scholarships awarded are for second semester.

Established by friends and family of Alvin Brown, this scholarship will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student.
Recipient must be a member of the varsity football or men's basketball program, and have graduated from a Nebraska high school. Selection shall be made by the Athletic Director, Football and Men's Basketball Coach.
 

Established by the family of Amanda Bosak, this scholarship shall be awarded to students majoring in Biology or Criminal Justice. Candidates shall be juniors or seniors with a 3.0 or above GPA. Financial need will be considered.

• Candidates must be majoring in English, Theatre, or Music in the College of Fine Arts and Humanities, UNK.
• Candidates shall have sophomore class standing or above.

Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate majoring in Construction Management in the Department of Industrial Technology. The recipient must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and sophomore class standing or above.

• • Each fall, an Internal AOII Scholarship Committee asks for applications from any current AOII's who have served on Leaders Council. After selection, the AOII committee reaches out of UNK Financial Aid office with the selected recipient to be awarded for spring semester.

To be used for 2 scholarships per year of equal value; one award to be awarded to a junior for his or her senior year, the second award to be awarded to a senior to offset the cost of his or her senior show; recipients must demonstrate excellence in Visual Communications and Design. This scholarship is awarded to a graduate student in English for the purpose of promoting a more exact and accurate use of the English Language.

This Fund shall provide scholarships to one or more students in the Department of Social Work, CASC, UNK.

Students meeting the following criteria shall be eligible:

• Pursuing a degree in Social Work with full-time enrollment in the Social Work Program (15 hours minimum)
• Sophomore of Junior class standing
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Demonstrated aptitude and potential for the profession of social work

Undergrad: Annually or otherwise for one scholarship to a regularly enrolled undergraduate student at UNK/UNL/UNO.  Preference given to graduates of a high school located in Keith County, NE.

Freshman: Annually or otherwise for one scholarship to a regularly enrolled undergraduate student at UNK/UNL/UNO. Candidates shall have incoming freshman status with preference given to graduates of Ogallala High School who have demonstrated interest in the arts.

Established by friends and family of Bernhard Stutheit, this scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior student majoring in English. The recipient must have a minmum 3.5 GPA.

Established by the friends and family of the late Mrs. Mantor to provide financial assistance to a junior or senior student majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design. The recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Selection is based upon scholarship, accomplishment, professional goals and participation in campus activities.

 

Established to help support students in athletics, with track to be given preference.
Recipients should have a minimum 3.0 GPA, or if a freshman, be in the top 20% of their high school graduating class.
Recipients shall be selected by the UNK Scholarship Committee from applicants recommended by the Athletic Director.

Estate fund to be used for scholarships for students from Shelton High School and Sandy Creek (formerly Clay Center) High School attending UNK. Students shall be selected on the basis of financial need, with at least average grades, with the likelihood that they will complete college with a bachelor's degree.

Established by Bob Jenner in memory of his wife Dora and himself, this scholarship will provide financial assistance to students majoring in Communications or Theatre. Preference is given to students graduating from Loup City High School.

Established by Jack L. Bryan in honor of his sisters, this scholarship is intended to benefit seniors during their student teaching semester prior to graduation. Recipients must be majoring in Teacher Education with an endorsement in Music or Elementary Education. Candidates shall have a senior class standing, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, have taken or be enrolled for student teaching, and be graduates of a Nebraska high school.

The recipients of this scholarship must have demonstrated the ability to express himself/herself well, think well on his/her feet and be proficient in expressing an idea or opinion. Preference shall be given to students involved in Speech and Debate or students who intend to enroll in law school.

This scholarship shall be awarded to students majoring in Teacher Education in the College of Education. Candidates shall have a senior class standing, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, have taken or be enrolled for student teaching, and be graduates of a Nebraska high school.

Recipients must participate in a varsity athletic program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. First preference is given to basketball. The recipient must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Recipients must be graduates of a Nebraska High School.

Any major, and on the men's or women's tennis team. Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident. To be determined by the tennis coach or athletic director.

Candidates must be majoring in music, have sophomore class standing or above, have cumulative gpa of 3.0 or above. Preference shall not be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.

Established by M. D. "Dan" Windhorst to help support students in the Elementary and/or Special Education Department. The recipient should have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to students of Alpha Phi sorority. If no Alpha Phi is available, the recipient may be either a male or female student of sophomore status or above and/or graduate student who meets the academic requirements of Teacher Education.

Awarded to junior or senior enrolled full time majoring in music; preference to a woman. Must have minimum gpa of 3.0 and be active in departmental organizations and/or music groups or activities. Financial need shall be considered but not a deciding factor. Award amount will be determined by funds available from the Ron and Carol Cope Foundation.

The scholarship shall be awarded to a student(s) who is majoring in Art, Dance, Music or Theatre in the College of FA&H.  Candidates shall have junior or senior class standing.  Preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need and who have demonstrated leadership, commitment, sevice and intergrity.

Annually or otherwise for 4 or more scholarships.  Candidates shall be pursuing any major at a NU campus and shall have incoming freshman or first year class standing except for renewals.  Candidates shall be rannkedin the top 50% of their graduating class from Sidney High School.  Preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.

This scholarship is awarded to a student in the Aircraft Systems Management program. The recipient must be a resident of Hall County or an adjacent county. If no applicants meet that requirement, the committee may select a recipient who is a resident of central Nebraska. Past academic achievement and demonstrated potential for future academic and professional accomplishments shall be considered.

This scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student who has sophomore class standing or above and who has graduated from a Nebraska High School. The recipient must have a 3.0 or better grade point average and must be actiive in campus and community activities.

Annually or otherwise for one or more scholarships to regularly enrolled undergraduates. Candidates shall be pursuing any major at UNK, have incoming freshman status, met all admission's requirements and be graduates of Minden High School.  Preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.

Enrolled UNK student who has graduated from Sumner-Eddyville-Miller High School. First preference given to incoming freshman. Some preference also given to students who have demonstrated need.

This scholarship shall be awarded to students enrolled in any college at UNK. Recipients must be graduates of Pleasanton Nebraska High School, demonstrate a strong desire to learn and a willingness to complete their degree. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need.

Selected by Chemistry Dep't to incoming freshman and upperclassmen - department notifies us.

Application has also been created as an incoming Freshman Scholarship.  In the spring semester, the link will be sent out to incoming freshman chemistry majors.

Established by Clara Ockinga, a member of the Business Department faculty for over 31 years, this scholarship will be awarded to a second semester sophomore or junior majoring in Business Education. The recipient must have at least a minimum 2.5 GPA. Selection is based upon scholarship, financial need, and a good moral character.

This scholarship shall be awarded to students majoring in Speech or English. Criteria to be considered by the scholarship committee in selection of scholarship recipients, are past academic achievement and demonstration of potential for future academic  and professional accomplishments.  Although financial need may be considered as a criterion, it should not be the determinant factor in selecting recipients.

For one or more scholarships to undergrad students pursuing any major at UNK, and who are members of the track and field team, dept of athletics; frist preference shall be to a sprinter or long jumper. Recipient will be chosen by the head coach of the track and field team

Established by the friends and family of the late Clayton H. Adee to provide financial assistance to senior students majoring in Education with plans to teach in the public schools. The recipient must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and have graduated from a Nebraska high school.

• pursuing a graduate degree related to early childhood, elementary, secondary, or STEM education

• Residents of one of the following Nebraska Counties: Arthur, Blaine, Brown, Cherry, Custer, Frontier, Garden, Grant, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, Loup, Perkins, McPherson, Sheridan, or Thomas, with second preference given to any Nebraska resident.

Recipients must be enrolled in the College of Education with a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Sophomore class standing or above and full-time enrollment are required. Preference is given to students who have graduated from the following high schools: Sandhills, Minatare, Central City or Grand Island Northwest. If no qualified applicant has graduated from one of preferred high schools, preference will go to qualified applicant who has graduated from a Class C or D Nebraska High School.

Established by the friends and family of Debra Dirks, this scholarship will be awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design. The recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Established by the family of DeeAnna Delaet, this scholarship will be awarded to a full-time sophmore, junior or senior student majoring in Biology and/or Chemistry. The recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need may be considered but should not be the determining factor in selection.

Established in memory of Delia Garrett, this scholarship shall be awarded to students majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design. The primary consideration in awarding this scholarship is financial need.

This scholarship will be awarded to a female student who is entering her junior or senior year and enrolled in a Teacher Education program. The recipient must be a resident of Nebraska and have completed 70 credit hours. Applicants should have a good scholastic record and exemplify high standards for teaching.

This fund shall provide one or more scholarships to FT students in the Department of Family Studies and Interior Design, CBT, UNK.

This scholarship is awarded to part-time, non-traditional undergraduate students. Not for full-time students. It is preferred that the recipient be the non-married parent of dependent children

Selection will be based upon the athletes' ability in distance running, as well as leadership qualities, and general good character. Recipients shall be selected by the track coaches.

Established by the friends and family of former English professor, Donald Duryea, this scholarship will be awarded to a senior student majoring in English Education with a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Candidates shall be graduates of Arapahoe High, Cambridge, or Southern Valley Junior/Senior High Schools; shall be pursuing a major in Agribusiness in the Department of Economics, college of B&T or College of Agricultural Sciences & Nat. Resources, UNL; after awarding to all qualified candidates pursuing agriculture-related majors any remaining spendable income may be given to students in any education major at UNK, UNL or UNO. Candidates who are incoming freshmen shall have cum gpa of 2.8 or above, all other candidates shall have cum gpa of 3.0 or above. Renewal based on cum gpa of 3.0 or above.

This scholarship shall be awarded to a student with a minor in Philosophy who has demonstrated interest in English and Classical Poetry.

This scholarship shall be awarded to a Special Education major who will be student teaching during the year in which they receive the scholarship. Recipients shall have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and be graduates of a Nebraska High School.

Established to aid graduating Seniors or former graduates of Elm Creek High School who have chosen to attend UNK. Recipients shall be selected based on financial need rather than upon their academic standing or their performance on achievement tests.

Applications are available at the UNK Office of Financial Aid and the Elm Creek High School and a letter sent to UNK with recipients. The scholarship may be renewed for two additional years.

There are several scholarships under this fund, Ada G. Meier Civic Leadership, John H. Meier, Glenn E. Meier,Dr. Woodrow W. Meier, Priscilla Harding, Donald T. Meier Teacher. Each is for a specific department, to incoming freshmen students who are graduates of Garden County High School. Selection is made by Garden County school and they send us recipients' names.

This scholarship shall be awarded to candidates with incoming freshman class standing or above. It is the donor's intent that 1 scholarship be awarded to an incoming freshman annually except for renewals. Candidates shall be majoring in math, chemistry, physics, biology, pre-medicine, pre-engineering or a pre-professional health program. Candidates shall have demonstrated financial need and must be graduates of Lexington High School. Candidates shall be ranked between the top 10% to 25% of their high school graduating class.  May be renewed with a 3.0 GPA and cannot be given to a student who has athletic aid.

This fund shall be used for scholarships to full-time undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences at UNK.  Up to three scholarships may be awarded annually, usually to one sophomore, one junior, and one senior.  Following the donor's death, a minimum of six scholarships may be awarded. 

Students meeting the following criteria shall be eligible:

¯ Major in pre-engineering, but if there are no eligible students in that
program, then to candidates pursuing one of these majors in priority
order: mathematics, physics,  or computer science
¯ Except for renewals, Sophomore class standing

Preference may be given, to students who meet the following:

Used annually for one or more scholarships to fulltime students who are members of the men's or women's tennis teams.  Candidates shall be pursuing any major and have demonstrated academic excellence and demonstrated a potential for future academic and professional growth.  Renewable for 3 years with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

The recipient of this scholarship shall be an incoming freshman at UNK and graduate from Arcadia High School in Arcadia Nebraska. GPA shall not be a controlling criterion. Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need who have demonstrated good character. Candidates should also be US citizens or lawful permanent residents.

Scholarships awarded shall stay with student until graduation and then be reawarded.

Established to help support students of UNK in the Department of Industrial Technology and/or Athletics. Selection shall be based on candidates' past academic achievement and demonstration of potential for future academic and professional accomplishment. Financial need and worthiness will also be considered as well as the applicant's minority status (it being the wish of the Donors that preference be given to minority students where possible.)

This fund shall commemorate the life of Dr. Augustus O. Thomas. Candidates for the scholarship shall be majoring in one of the following: Teacher Education of College of Education, Speech Communication, English-Writing Emphasis of College of Fine Arts and Humanities. Candidates shall have a sophomore or above class standing, a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above, and shall have demonstrated leadership experience. Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate financial need.

Established by former professor, Dr. Donald E. Fox, to provide financial aid to a second semester freshman with a major or minor in Chemistry. Selection shall be based upon academic achievement, financial need, integrity, and motivation. 

Scholarship shall be awarded for spring semester.

Annually or otherwise for one more scholarship to members of the basketball team pursuing any major at UNK.  Candidates shall be graduates of any NE high school whose basketball teams are classified as Class B,C, or D.  Preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.

Established by Dr. Francis L. Richards and Donald K. Briggs, this scholarship shall be awarded to a male or female member of the varsity track program. Recipients shall have sophomore, junior, or senior class standing, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and have graduated from a Nebraska high school. Financial need shall be a criteria but not the determining factor. Recipients shall be selected by the UNK Scholarship Committee upon recommendation from the Men's and Women's Track coaches.

Eligible students shall be full-time, undergraduates majoring in Special Education. The recipient shall have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above and must have demonstrated financial need.

This scholarship shall be awarded to full-time students majoring in Communication Disorders or Speech Pathology. Recipients shall have junior, senior, or graduate status, a minimum 3.0 GPA, shall have excellent clinical potential, be active in the student organization KSSLHA, and shall have expressed a desire to work in the area of Speech Pathology following graduation.

To students in CBT, sophomore or above, minimum of 2.5 GPA, with financial need.

These scholarships are under the Dr. Kenneth & Phyllis Urwiller Scholarship Fund; awarded to 2 undergraduate students in the department of Health Sciences, College of NSS. Candidates must be enrolled in Pre-Medicine program and have junior or senior class standing. Selected by Director of Health Sciences program. Funding shall be awarded equally between both scholarships.

Given to any junior or senior with a 3.25 GPA, research experience, and a desire to continue their education beyond an undergraduate career. A preference is to those pursuing a career in education, and specifically, higher education.

Established to assist students of UNK. The recipient shall be a well-rounded student who shows evidence of strong motivation (school activities, community service, scholarship and leadership) and meets the following criteria: enrolled and accepted in the Pre-Medicine program, sophomore or above classification, minimum 3.0 GPA. Residents of Nebraska will receive first consideration.

For full time undergraduates majoring in Education or Educational Psychology at UNK; candidates shall be residents of either Nebraska or Iowa, shall have incoming freshman class standing, shall have 3.0 gpa; preference to female students.

 

Annually or otherwise for one or more scholarships to regulary enrolled undergraduates pursing any major in the College of Ed. Candidiates shall have junior or senior class standing, cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater and preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.

Established by the friends and family of the late Dr. Mantor, this scholarship shall be awarded to an upperclass student majoring in History, who has a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection shall be based on scholarship, accomplishment, professional goals and financial need.

Established to provide assistance to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in Art. First preference is given to students majoring in Art History and having a minimum GPA of 3.0. Financial need will be considered in selecting the recipients with consideration given to students who are academically eligible but financially restrained.

Established by friends and family of the late Dr. Morse to provide financial assistance to a junior or senior student majoring in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or Biology.

Established by the friends and family of Dr. Johnson, this scholarship shall be awarded to a junior Pre-Medical or Para-Medical major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

This scholarship was established in the memory of Dr. Ole Kolstad, the former Chairman of the Department of Biology. It shall be awarded to undergraduates majoring in Biology. Recipients shall have junior class standing or above and must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Preference shall be given to students who have demonstrated financial need.

Recipients must be fulltime undergraduate students enrolling in or intending to enroll in the Sciences. Upperclassmen must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average. Graduates from Butler County Nebraska High Schools are preferred.

Established by the friends and family of former faculty member Dr. Wayne Marshall to provide financial assistance to junior or senior students majoring in Elementary Education.

To be used for one or more scholarships to undergraduate students in College of Education; candidates shall be pursuing major in education with a Field Endorsement Option in French, Spanish or Speech Communication. Candidates shall have sophomore class standing or above and cumulative gpa of 3.0 or above; preference to candidates with demonstrated financial neeed.

Established by Gary D. Graham, M.D. in memory of his father, Dudley Graham, who was an athlete at Kearney State College and was actively involved in the athletic program. This scholarship will be awarded alternately between athletes participating in football and men's basketball. Recipients shall be selected by the Athletic Director in consultation with the respective coach.

Established to provide support for students of UNK. Recipients must meet the academic standards of the University to be eligible. Financial need may be considered, but will not be the determining factor. Recipients shall be selected by the UNK Scholarship Committee from applicants recommended by the Athletic Director.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Music. Selections will be based on ability and need. Contact the Department of Music & Performing Arts for applications.

Financial need may be considered but shall not be the determining factor.

Recipients must meet the following criteria:

• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency

Annually or otherwise for one or more scholarships to regularly enrolled undergraduate students in the Dept. of Elementary Education/Early Childhood.  Candidates shall incoming freshman class standing and be graduates of Ravenna high school.  Preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.

▪ The scholarships shall be annual scholarships, and the number, amount, and recipients shall be awarded by the Committee of the University.
▪ The recipients shall be of good moral character, in need of financial aid, and possessing such other qualifications as may from time to time be fixed by the Committee.

Preference will be given to students who without this assistance might, because of physical handicaps or lack of ordinary health, be unable to work their way through college and in the absence of such assistance might be deprived of a college education.

Established by gifts from Mrs. Arnold Ender in memory of her husband to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students majoring in Business Administration. Recipients must be a junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA in their discipline. Financial need shall be considered.

Net income to provide loans or grants to needy students in attendance at any campus of the University of Nebraska who have demonstrated their dedication to obtaining a college education.

Candidates shall be admitted to candidacy in either School Psychology, Community Counseling or School Counseling (elementary or secondary only) programs in dept of Counseling & School Psychology. Shall have cumulative gpa of 3.5 or above; preference to students with demonstrated exemplary ethical and professional conduct. Recipient to be determined by the scholarship committee chair of dept of Counseling and School Psychology.

Preference shall be given to physically handicapped students. High school scholastic performance, financial need and leadership demonstrated through school and community activities shall be criteria in making this award.

This scholarship shall be awarded to juniors with a declared major in Telecommunications Management. The recipients shall have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and a 3.0 grade point average in department courses. Students shall be full-time, a member of the Telecommunications Management Student Leadership Group and must have completed ITEC 335 and be enrolled in or completed ITEC 345 and all required prerequisites. Established to commemorate the life of Grace Lundeen Frandsen. The scholarship shall be awarded to one undergraduate student in the Department of Elementary Education/Early Childhood, College of Education. This scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Health Education and/or Physical Education, College of Education. Candidates shall have sophomore or above class standing and be graduates of a Nebraska high school. Financial need will be considered.

Established to help support students of UNK in the College of Education. Recipients must be an Elementary Education major with a minimum 2.8 GPA. Special consideration may be given to applicants who will be in the process of fulfilling their student teaching requirements. Financial need may be considered, but will not be the determinant factor.

This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in or admitted to the Graduate College for at least six credit hours for both semesters. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 required. In addition to grade point average, involvement in extra and co-curricular activities will be used in selecting recipients.

Established by a gift from J. A. & Fern Baldwin to provide financial assistance to a junior or senior student majoring in Business Administration or Economics. Eligible students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in their discipline. Selection will be based upon financial need.

1. The principal of this Fund shall be considered a permanent endowment and shall be kept intact and invested in accordance with the investment policies set from time to time by the Donee with only the Spendable Net Income generated therefrom used for the purpose of this Fund.  For purposes of this Agreement, "Spendable Net Income" shall be defined as the permitted annual spending amount for this endowment as determined in accordance with the Donee's spending policy as it may exist from time to time.
2. This Fund shall be used in the spring semester only for one (1) award to a regularly enrolled undergraduate student in the Department of Art and Art History, College of Fine Arts and Humanities, University of Nebraska at Kearney.
3. Students meeting the following criteria shall be eligible for this award:
   • Candidates shall be pursuing a major in Studio Art in the Department of Art and Art History, College of Fine Arts and Humanities, University of Nebraska at Kearney.
   • Candidates shall have a senior class standing.
   • Candidates shall have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above in their major-required courses.
   • Preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.
   • Candidates shall be participating in the Department of Art and Art History's Senior Show during the semester in which the award is presented.
4. The recipient of this award shall be determined by the Chair, Department of Art and Art History, College of Fine arts and Humanities, University of Nebraska at Kearney, or his or her designee.  As of the date of this Agreement, awards hereunder may constitute taxable income to the recipients as determined by the applicable provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and the Regulations promulgated thereunder.

• Graduate of a Nebraska High School
• Demonstrated interest in Public Policy and/or Public Administration

Candidates shall incoming class standing, 3.0 or above GPA, be graduates of Ashland-Greenwood, NE and have demonstrated leadership in school activities, organizations or community service. Preference shall be given to candidates who have demonstrated financial need.

Established in 1977 by Attorney James Knapp and Mrs. Knapp who both attended Kearney State College. This scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduate students from Buffalo County, Nebraska who are participating in intercollegiate debate.

Established by the friends and family of James W. Nielsen to provide financial assistance to a junior or senior student majoring in Physical Science, Physics and/or Mathematics. Eligible students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

This scholarship honors the life of Janice Jones Schuh, a graduate of Kearney State Teachers College in 1940. Candidates must be majoring in Elementary Education with a senior class standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Preference shall be given to candidates who have participated in art or music and have a special interest in children's literature. Preference shall also be given to students who have demonstrated financial need.

Awarded to regularly enrolled graduate students in department of Communication Disorders, College of Ed, UNK. Recipient shall be pursuing a graduate major in Speech/Language Pathology at UNK, shall have a cum gpa of 3.0 or above and an expressed desire to pursue a career in the area of speech pathology following graduation. Preference not given to candidates with demonstrated financial need.

Established to provide financial assistance to one or more full-time undergraduate students at UNK. Recipients must be a junior or senior majoring in Journalism or Public Relations with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled in the College of B&T & be majoring in Accounting and Finance. A class standing of sophomore status is also required.

The recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled in the College of Education and be majoring in Elementary Education. Class standing of sophomore status is also required.

▪ This Fund shall be used annually or otherwise for one or more scholarships to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in UNL, UNO or UNK Student meeting the following criteria shall be eligible for this scholarship:
1. Candidates shall have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or below.
2. Financial need shall be a primary criterion in making this award.
3. All scholarships awarded here under shall be for one academic year but may be renewed upon application and satisfactory performance by the recipient.

The recipient of this scholarship shall be determined by the System Scholarship Committee, University of Nebraska.

Annually or otherwise for student(s) with any major. Need is the primary criterion. GPA of 3.0 or better. Preference shall be giving to first  generation college students. Subject to available funds, all scholarships awarded may be renewed upon all criteria.

To be used for one or more scholarships or fellowships to regularly enrolled undergraduate or graduate students in College of Natural & Social Sciences. Candidates must be majoring in biology; other criteria to be determined from time to time by Dept of Biology.

This scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduate students majoring in accounting who have senior class standing. They shall have expressed a desire to pursue a career in the area of accounting after graduation.

Annually or otherwise for one or more scholarships to fulltime undergraduate students pursuing a major in music in the Dept. of Music & Performing Arts with a min GPA of 2.5 in all classes and a 3.0 min GPA in all music classes. Preference shall be given to students of demonstrated outstanding achievement on string instruments, with secondary preference to other orchestral instruments.

Can also be awarded to incoming freshman.

This scholarship will be awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student. The recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and must be a member of the Circle K Club.

This scholarship, established by the Kearney Tennis Association, shall be awarded to male and female students who are members of the UNK Tennis Team. Recipients may have any class standing and must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. The UNK Scholarship Committee shall select the recipients upon recommendations from the tennis coach.

Those who have proven academic excellence and provided proof of financial need shall be given first consideration. For full time undergraduate students; recipients must be pursuing degree in pre-law business or Family and Consumer Science with empasis on food service. Must have freshmen class standing, be graduates of any Nebraska high school and be in top 10% of hs graduating class.

Established to commemorate the life of Dr. Kent Estes. This scholarship shall be awarded to graduate students in the Counseling program who have been actively involved in Chi Sigma Iota honor society.

This scholarship shall be awarded to regularly enrolled undergraduate students who are members of any UNK varsity sport. Candidates shall be members of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

For one or more scholarships for regularly enrolled undergraduate students at UNK. Candidates shall be pursuing any major and be members of Pi Kappa Alpha. Application is handled by Aaron Estes, he gives to fraternity members, they complete and return, he makes decision.

Recipients of this scholarship shall be enrolled in the College of Business and Technology with a Business Administration major. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required. The recipients permanent residency must be in Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado or Wyoming

Recipients must have a major in department of HPERLS, be full time, sophomore or junior during award year, have 3.0 cum gpa or greater, involvment in university, deparment or professional organizations; financial need shall be a consideration.

This scholarship shall be awarded to full-time, undergraduate students who are sophomores or above with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

Established by the family of Kristine Everitt. The scholarship will be awarded to ONE full time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Special Education in the College of Education. Recipients shall have senior class standing or above with an intended graduation date within the year they receive the scholarship, a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, and have expressed a desire to pursue a career in and a passion for teaching or working with the mildly or moderately disabled. Preference shall be given to candidates demonstrating financial need.
